Connecting Care with BridgePoint

2025–26

Overview

Connecting Saskatchewan’s Continuum of Care

BridgePoint Center for Eating Disorder Recovery partnered with Stepped Care Solutions to explore opportunities to strengthen Saskatchewan’s continuum of care for people living with disordered eating. The work focused on understanding what services and supports currently exist, how BridgePoint could be better connected with the broader provincial care system, and where gaps—particularly in youth early intervention—could be addressed.

Through co-design and engagement, people with lived and living experience, caregivers, service providers, and system leaders helped build a clearer picture of the current continuum of care for youth and adults and identify practical opportunities to strengthen access, coordination, and system capacity.

Highlights

  • Gathered diverse perspectives through two workshops, a community engagement session, and individual interviews, with additional feedback gathered through a validation survey.
  • Gathered perspectives on where people currently go for support, providing a clearer picture of the continuum of care for youth and adults across Saskatchewan.
  • Identified opportunities to strengthen connections between BridgePoint's community-based services and provincial acute and medical care, including care pathways and transition planning.
  • Identified opportunities for earlier, lower-barrier support for youth, including screening, navigation, community-based early intervention, and increased low- to moderate-intensity options.
  • Developed recommendations to guide the next phase of system development, from provincial care pathways and provider capacity building to a community of practice and readiness for new early intervention approaches.
